Putin Extends Invitation to Indonesia’s Leader for Key Events in Russia
Indonesia’s Foreign Minister Sugiono, who is known by a single name, said the invitation was delivered during Prabowo’s visit to Moscow on Monday, according to official statements shared in Jakarta.
“President Putin also invited President Prabowo to attend an event scheduled for May in Kazan, as well as a major industry exhibition in July,” Sugiono said in a video message provided by the presidential administration.
The May gathering is believed to refer to the Russia–Islamic World: Kazan Forum, which is set to take place alongside the Kazan Expo between May 12 and 17. The July event is expected to be the International Innovation Industry Expo 2026 in Ekaterinburg from July 6 to 9.
According to reports summarizing the talks in Moscow, the two leaders identified several key areas for expanded cooperation, including energy, agriculture, and industrial development, while also emphasizing cultural and educational ties.
Putin also expressed hope that Prabowo’s visit would help strengthen and sustain growth in bilateral trade between the two countries, according to the same reports.
Both sides reportedly agreed to further deepen collaboration in sectors such as economics, space exploration, and pharmaceuticals.
