Israeli Jets Strike Southern Beirut as Assaults Across Lebanon Continue
The strike followed an urgent evacuation notice issued by Israeli army spokesperson Avichay Adraee, who warned residents to leave several neighborhoods in southern Beirut, including Haret Hreik, Ghobeiry, Laylaki, Haddad, Borj el-Barajneh, Tawhidat al-Ghadir, and Shiyah.
As of now, there have been no confirmed reports regarding casualties or the extent of the damage from the strike on the capital.
In a separate incident, Israeli aircraft targeted the town of Baraachit in the Bint Jbeil district of southern Lebanon, resulting in one fatality and leaving another person injured.
The ongoing escalation follows a cross-border attack by Hezbollah on March 2, after which Israel intensified its campaign, launching repeated airstrikes and initiating a ground offensive in southern Lebanon.
According to Lebanese authorities, the continued assault has led to 1,142 deaths and injured 3,315 others since the start of the escalation.
