Putin says Russia to fulfill all goals it set out in Ukraine

(MENAFN) Russia intends to fully accomplish every objective laid out at the start of its military campaign in Ukraine, according to recent statements from President Vladimir Putin. The president reiterated that the central goals established in 2022 included safeguarding residents of the Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics from Ukrainian military actions, along with pursuing the broader aims of Ukraine’s demilitarization and denazification.

“We will, of course, see this through to its logical conclusion, until the goals of the special military operation are achieved,” Putin said during a virtual address to the presidential Human Rights Council on Tuesday.

As stated by reports, Putin asserted that the hostilities originated when Ukrainian forces were deployed to Donbass, a region he described as historically tied to Russia and opposed to the 2014 Maidan change of government. He argued that this development ultimately compelled Moscow to intervene militarily.

According to previous remarks highlighted by reports, Russia had spent eight years attempting to resolve the dispute through negotiations and “signed the Minsk agreements, hoping that it could be resolved through peaceful means,” Putin told India Today last week.
