Iran, Qatar reaffirm shared vision, defense bilateral ties
General Mousavi opened the meeting by praising Qatar as a “friendly nation” with which Iran maintains “exceptionally close political relations.” He expressed gratitude to Doha for its “principled stance condemning the violation of Iran’s sovereignty” during the June hostilities and for its “consistent support for the struggles of the oppressed Palestinian people.”
The Iranian military leader emphasized that Iran’s actions during the conflict had drawn widespread international recognition. “The U.S. and the Zionist regime,” he said, “respect no international norms or principles,” criticizing Western powers for what he described as hypocrisy.
He also strongly condemned the United States for offering “unrestricted intelligence, logistical, and operational support” to Israel during Iran’s retaliatory strikes, which involved a combination of drone and missile attacks. “Iran’s Armed Forces stood resolute against bullying,” he stated, “responding to the aggressors with full might.”
Qatari Defense Minister Khalid bin Mohammad Al-Attiyah expressed condolences for the loss of Major General Mohammad Bagheri and other Iranian commanders killed in Israeli strikes. He reaffirmed Qatar’s “immediate condemnation of Israel’s aggression,” underscoring Doha’s alignment with Tehran in opposing external military threats and supporting regional resistance movements.
